Sympathy
I see the tears run,
burning as a fluid acid;
the rivulets of an endless facet
I don’t know your pains
I don’t know your sorrows
Yet, I can still feel the weight
And my heart aches
There was a time before this
Where the happenings of life
Were lighter than a summer breeze
Perhaps, it is a part of growing up
To feel the heaviness of a life
You are weighed down
You are crushed in despair
The only way out of the darkness
Is through the light of my extending hand
