Operation Freedom
Every time you hear the news,
You scream with anger and hatred and rage,
‘cuz other people’s lives aren’t yours to choose.
It seems you don’t get it’s all a new age.
So, with every breath I take,
Whenever you look someone in the eyes,
There are some feelings you just can’t shake.
‘cuz you can almost taste these people’s cries.
I DO NOT assimilate.
It doesn’t matter what you dictate.
You can’t tell me to prostrate,
because then I will retaliate.
I can see that you accentuate,
the hate crimes it’s how you operate.
But maybe you should hesitate,
We can try to forgive and participate.
Bringing love to the world it would be worth the wait.
With every rhyme,
I can see they hurt you, the change they contribute.
Freedom doesn’t cost a dime,
But it is difficult for them to distribute.
No matter what the sacrifice,
I promise I will regain my sights.
So who cares what is good or nice,
Because I won’t relinquish my civil rights.
