Forget-me-not
spring here
winter gone
summer bloom
autumn fall
sky hued reminders
of a half whispered promise
of laughter, of love, of bird song silence
of picnics, of dances, of moonlit white water
of food and fun
of carnival cotton candy all wound up
and the silent whispered promise of
forget – me- not
forget not the sun, the clouds, the day
nor the places, the people, the thing we said
nor what we did
forget-not the days spent lying in the cool wet grass
of giggling over nothing
forget – not the days of creating havoc, of climbing trees
forget- not the rides to new places of the wind
on your face
forget-not the days of games, now childish, but
ever still fun
And forget – not the half whispered promise of
Forget – me not
