Fire Stole My Heart
At the end of the day
No more words left I can say
Beaten and broken
On the ground cracked wide open
My dying heart misbehaves
Bloody and crying the pain goes on for days
In denial having lost my only child
Beautiful and free she now runs wild
The loss cut deep down in my soul
My heart turned to stone like that blackened coal
My pain I keep hidden lock and key
But my tear stains are there for everyone to see
Everywhere I turn memories arise
Her soul so beautiful now lost in sunrise
How can I conceive again?
When I don’t even know where to begin
My love is wasting away
Gone like that unchangeable day
Flying high like the flames in the sky she lies
But down here on Earth all I know how to do is cry
Cry and slowly die inside
