Shrouded in purple wisteria,
Two russet-feathered chickadees
Flit and flutter, skip and scuttle,
Snatching up thin twigs, delicate leaves –
And maybe even a ball of fur, the rarest of all –
To wreathe their humble, homey nest
They are meticulous, methodical in their work
From dawn ‘til dusk
The faded-white kitchen window
Frames this picture of persistence
A simple reminder
To keep going and
Move forward.
