Mirrors
Mirrors, they show imperfections.
Reflect light from themselves
just to show that they can.
You stare at it,
unknowing how it became
so cruel.
Laughing at all the things
you try to hide.
Secret keepers they are,
once you're gone,
so is what you want to
keep hidden.
They'd tell if they could,
without a mouth
or a mind it's impossible.
You're safe for now,
secrets lost in the mirror.
But open the door,
and your secrets are
safe no more.
