Not Your Juliet
Leaves slip away from the trees grasp
They turn from a lively green to a deadly brown
I search for your eyes wanting to feel your grasp
The emotions crash over me making me drown
Colors of gold and red cover the ground
They crunch and crumble just like my heart
I stand there frozen as if I’m icebound
I just stood and watched as you pulled apart
A long time ago I would’ve thought I’d have another chance
But I’ve taken them all and thrown them all away
I always thought it’d be a long time romance
I’m no longer your Juliet, so leave me alone okay?
You call me all these names, and then say you care
I am none of those things you say I am
Why don’t you take you rude comments elsewhere
But I am done; with you, with us… does it look like I give a damn?
