An Artist's First Album

Life for me has been an artist's first album.
It's caused sleepless nights
And has been a lot of hard work.
And all I've really wanted
Is for it to be perfect.
But I've only ended up
With one or two hit songs
And not a lot of fans.
People complain about
every little mistake.
I've put up with a lot of
Bad reviews,
And my share of
Vacant shows.
But in the end it's been
A learning experience.
And I know someday
Someone will look back and realize
It set a lot of good things in motion.
Life for me has been an artist's first album.
