Trading in My Princess Shoes
My castle is the place I like to call my home,/ Where I'm the girl I really am, the girl that no one knows./ For you see, I am not always a pretty princess./ When the clock strikes twelve, I turn back into something much less.// I trade my lovely princess shoes for some comfy socks,/ I turn my music up real loud and think I really rock./ The pretty ballgown comes off and's replaced by an old tee./ I lay around all by myself, finally get to be me.// So, you see a princess is not always so./ Behind closed doors, she becomes the girl no one would know./ You wouldn't even know me if you saw the things I do./ When no one's looking, I take off my pretty princess shoes.//
