Window To Her Soul
She stiffens up, the brown window to her soul
Is filled with your tears, they’re not hers
She won’t cry for you
A clenched jaw, a promise that she will be fine
And she will move on, you’re not the one
She won’t die for you
She can’t believe she let you in her polaroid
Should have seen where her dreams would land
With a boy, trying to be a man
‘Just another broken heart’ she whispers to herself
Picks up all the perfect pieces and sets them on a shelf-
Where they can grow dusty and cold-
Like the love she’s come to know
But she thought he was different than everyone else
