what we lost in the stars
This tick tock,
beating in time with the clock,
I held on for so long.
she worked her days,
and saved her nights.
leaving me alone,
telling me that it would work out,
Even when the food ran out.
It beats like a drum,
I held her close,
She promised that we could make it throught.
The false hope,
The too late goobyes,
Like a sad song,
that doesnt quite work,
but you keep it blasting,
remembering that your thoughts are the real enemy here.
not the old pictures on the walls,
not the dreams that fell,
not the empty beds that we never really slept in.
My mind was at fault,
for what we lost in the stars.
