Foot's Asleep
All the possible ways your life can be lived
Are exemplified by the choices,
To be made in that moment,
When you realize your foot's asleep.
We all face those pin-prick pains.
You can find a comfortable position
And hold steadfast,
Never risking movement:
A lot like hiding, but more like patience,
Depending on who you are.
You can walk it off, to get over it quickly.
A brave, rash move is
Sometimes best of course.
But are boldness and courage still rewarded?
Are you out for the reward?
Maybe your way is not to find out at all,
That your foot's asleep,
That pains are coming,
That you may have to make a choice.
