"You don't write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say."
--F. Scott Fitzgerald

"A chief event of life is the day in which we have encountered a mind that startled us."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

Words wait, waver, never awake
Speech sprints to the start
Stutter, stop, a look, a look away
A dream deigned, designed another day
Another pause draws a troubled breath
A look, a look away, but hey
Zones zigged, not zagged, always dragged
Backs bring back the blank brain
Mutter, no never matters, words in tatters
No eyes, dies, cries, a mouth full of flies
Flies fixed flapping wings in a windpipe
A question, quiet, not querulous, just faint
“Oh how quaint,” a mouth full of paint
Another restraint, a rain full of taint
Pitter-patter, more words in tatters
Shakes, shots, no shimmering, shame
A look, a look away
