Is It Okay?
I trudge into the overcrowded hallways
Filled with innocent mingling
And flirtatious laughter but
Then there’s me
Who’s disastrously unhappy and
Blatantly heartbroken
As I know I have to
Linger in the presence
Of someone I secretly
Cry over at night
So I walk the
Walk of shame
Because what we had was so
Incredibly beautiful
But it’s been torn the shreds
And laid on the cold tile of the school corridors
To be carelessly trampled on
Just like worthless trash
When all I want to do
Is to pick it up and
Desperately try to dust off the
Footprints and unfortunate wrinkles
Even though it’ll never
Be the same
As clean
Or as pure
As it was before
But quite frankly
I just want it to be okay
To say hi in the hall
Again
