The Sea
I twisted off the edge of the boat
into the bright turquoise sea.
Testing out the mask for leaks
And breathing through the snorkel
With no problems
I moved forward gaining comfort
Quietly moving through the water.
With my arms extended and my flippers flapping
Rocks below and sky above
Colors that are brilliant and beyond description
Sizes that vary between a button or a platter
Fins that flow or appear to be razors
Fish of all varieties
I am filled with amazement
My world has filled with beauty for this brief moment.
