To start this letter off
There’s one thing I have to say:
I love you more than anything
In every single way
And no matter what happens
I will always be
A protector for you
Because you’re an angel to me.
Maybe it’s the way
Little things stress you out,
Or how you see the good in others
Without a doubt
Of how they might be evil
Because dictators can be nice, too,
And when you say things like that
I can’t help but smile at you.
Or maybe it’s the way
Tie dye is your favorite thing,
Because peace and love and happiness
Are the cure for anything,
And in the words of John Lennon
You’re a dreamer, too,
If only the whole world
Had the imagination of you.
Maybe it’s your lovely soul,
Or the way you do your hair,
Or how you look at every minor problem
And say you just don’t care.
I wish that was an opinion
I could share with you,
Because it’s perfect and uncomplicated
And wonderful just like you.
Maybe it’s your love for life
And your adventure for everything,
How you find it all boring
And make it interesting,
How in your hands you hold
The keys to heaven itself,
How your compassion for everyone
Is found in no one else,
How you wrote me precious letters
That I’ve kept since I was six,
How you understand me always
And remind me just for kicks,
And how you make the entire world shine…
Just know you’ll be stuck with me
For a very long time.
