Two-Faced
I am…
The woman the child
Wearing clothes
Trailing like wedding gowns
With shoes too high, going toward the sky
Covered over in clouds
Who do they see in the mirror?
A child with too much time
The sunshine, the moon
Shining bright
Always in hiding
Day after day, fading away
Afraid to stay more than half a day
What do the people see?
A moon with nothing to say
The magma, the sea
Rising high
Bursting at the rocks
Splashing and burning, never turning
Exploding at the extreme
What do the scientists see?
The sea that never learned
Together, alone
Failing hard
Unable to function
Not choosing, just losing
Only destined to carry the shame
Who does the teacher see?
The student who's nothing new
The Myself, the I
Opposite
One thing then the other
Having to lose, to think before I do
Not seeing who I am
What do I see?
One person with the face of Two.

What a contradiction! I like your parallels and progression throughout the poem. You might want to make that opposite parallel thing more clear though in some of the stanzas. It was hard to distinguish in the first few lines of each. I like the repetition of the question in each stanza. Overall, great work. Might want to try for different analogies next time though--a lot of people use the sun/moon. Although the magma vs. sea was pretty uncommon. Anyway, great ending. :D
Please read and comment on my work titled An Icy Touch. Thx :)
