Valleys
It took all of my strength to get back up
I had tripped and fallen such a long way
Scraping knees and elbows all the way down
Tree roots winding all around my ankles
They would give anything to see me fall
I will not give them the satisfaction
I will make it all the way to the top
My eyes are lit with determination
I’m fighting for every single step I take
It’ll be worth it when I see the sun
Feel wind on my face from the mountain top
It was about so much more than that moment
It was always more about the hike up
