The body’s covered in sand
Twisted
The rib cage split open
Tangled
The eyes glossed over
Disgusting
The limbs pointing towards the sky
Disturbing
Flies swarm around, picking at the remaining skin
Unsightly
It could have been an accident
Its death means nothing
It’s nobody’s pet
It’s nobody’s friend
Nobody will care
People will think it was attacked
People will think it was just old
People will think whatever they want
Yet you still can’t help
But blame yourself
For its death
