Night-Night Sissy

Nuzzle your face into my chest
And I’ll stroke your hair and rub your back
Until you fall asleep.
You light skin is as soft as it were the day you were born.
And your soft snore is still so, so sweet.
I stare at the scar on your elbow
From your first fall.
And I wonder
Will you remember days like these?
Days when you take your bottle and say
“Night night sissy”
And I kiss your forehead.
