Taken With Pride
Burns run up both arms
Her skeletal being fringes
Back and forth back and forth
The tongue tackles the teeth
When she shrills at that cretin
Scratching the skin
He brings forth fortitude
Her noble hand slaps him
Get up from the black hole
Running through the thicket
His alacrity stands a chance
With a stolen heirloom in hand
He wraps it through his thumb
Death is the only next for him
For he has got her whole
Held by the heart and soul
Be not afraid was told
They ran across the world
Finding no peace in any
Breath is out and speed slows
But he runs and runs
Until she falls again
He holds her whole
Never letting go
