A Right To Know
My dreams have a right to know
Why, for centuries have they been breaking.
My wishes have a right to know
Why, haven’t they been heard, even once.
My heart has a right to know
Why, can’t it be loved just like it loves.
My fingers have the right to know
Why, haven’t they felt the warmth of a hand for so long.
My feet have the right to know
Why, nobody has stood by them all along.
My eyes have a right to know
Why, can’t they stare into someone else’s
and feel the love for them there.
My soul has a right to know
Why, has it been drifting so aimlessly in the world.
I have the right to know
Why have I been all alone for so long
Yes, I have the right to know.
