Nosotros Cantamos De Nos Amo
As the spotlight seared your shadow into the room,
I knew I would never forget you.
Your haunting melody closed the wounds
From a war of attrition
Like a veteran in the trenches.
My muses are piqued
By your involvement in my soul.
I tried so hard to meet your level,
To ascend to the stage.
You gave me the strength
To climb those hills,
To conquer mountains.
But it never mattered
Which war I fought,
How many men I've killed.
I'll always come back to this hall,
These walls,
These floorboards.
And I'll remember when,
"Nosotros cantamos de nos amo."
