If They Only Knew

I observe as the sky cries its powerful tears
And slowly dance across my window pane
I weep in unison with the sky,
Wondering what my purpose is,
Wondering why I should live another day
Confusion scampered through my head
Agony enveloping its cool, darkened fingers over me
No one understands…
No one can see…
That the person sitting on this floor
Is not who I want to be
If only they knew
What is going on inside my head,
And that a peculiar voice is hissing its
Poisonous thoughts,
Making me imagine the world if I was dead

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece when I was going through a dark depression... I hope that people who read this who are depressed finds strength within themselves to keep moving forward, no matter how difficult life may become.

brought tears to my eyes always tried so long to create a poem to sum up emotions like that. u definetly know what ur doing. promise u'll keep on writing and please make sure u take off the anonymous ppl need to kno this was ur work when its published

 I can definitely relate to this. There was a period of a about two years when I was depressed.

 Great work! Describes the mood/thoughts of depressed people perfectly.
