what I want is you
My heart is broken,
been broken for a month.
I listen to Eve 6 and sit in
this dorm room;
with my textbooks surrounding me
and think of our year together.
I write you this poem now
because in the future we will be over.
Over like lightning,
fighting,
hiding.
So it's my birthday and I'm 18.
All I want is you.
You used to say I'd find someone else
but it's been a month and
all I've seen is people who don't talk.
They walk around,
all in a circle
and their eyes are downcast.
But then I wake up.
What I want is you.
