Green
She turned green, but why?
The other she saw
Held more grace, Less flaw
Better grades, Not D’s
Sun-kissed skin, Not pale as a doll.
But why should she want to be her?
Her hand turned green as she saw the boy,
He liked the other girl,
The more she stared the greener she became!
Soon she’ll see the other girl,
The other as she is
Vain, without a care.
Why should she want to be her?
Her, shallow beyond campare.
She looks at me with jealousy,
I see it in her eyes!
On she stares, unaware as she does so
Greener she shines.
Why should she want to be me?
