End of April
Outside the sky is gleaming with puffy white clouds,
There’s a humming bird humming hymns of hope
And Finally! Spring has sprung, daisies are blooming,
The wind flies by, leaving no traces behind.
How fast the year is going by
So little time we had on our hands
My mind is fading away…
And I think of me and him sitting around the bonfire
Our bodies shiver and our hands meet
A wave of electricity passes through my veins
I look up to see his face and notice a smile,
Curving on his lips,
The moon is luminescent
The sound of the water waves,
Swerves and whooshes through the ocean
As my knee presses against his; I realize our bodies are touching
The bitter but familiar smell of Guinness on his breath, becomes apparent
This made him even more irresistible
But I held my ground, not giving in
Then as the moon shifts, I see a cherry tree filled with blossoms
A firefly flutters beneath a jaguar marigold
Up ahead a wishing star shines
I make a wish; wishing for this night to never end.
