The Price
I have learned that
Acceptance comes with a price
That not many are willing to pay.
I have learned that
Many people are content to lie
To themselves about
What their eyes can see.
I have learned that
They are afraid to confront
Their own lies
To accept the truth of
What their eyes can see.
I have learned that
The moment they are faced
With that need to see
They lash out, too afraid
Content to lie and blind their minds.
I have learned that
The price of acceptance
Is letting go of your own fear
Of being the one who is wrong.
