Letter to my mom
Thousands of kilometres separate us,
But we are closer than ever,
We are closer than we have ever been.
Your letters were warm hugs,
Words of hope
And promises of happiness
During really hard times.
Whenever I closed my eyes,
I recalled the moments we shared together,
wonderful afternoons walking by the beach,
collecting sweet smelling apples during fall,
getting lost between the green trees in the woods.
Each time I opened the mailbox
And I saw your handwriting on one of the envelopes,
I was able to smell the flowers from our garden,
The aroma of the water of the sea,
The perfume of your tasty meals
And the smell of sponge cake and bread.
Thousands of kilometres separate us,
But we are closer than ever,
We are closer than we have ever been.
Your love was a dose of strength
During harsh moments
And your love is still a dose
Of confidence and happiness,
a dose of peace and calm.
Your love is magic and unique,
Your love is special,
As special and magical as you are.
I love you mom
And my love will always be infinite,
Even if the ocean separates both you and me.
I love you mom,
More than you can ever imagine.
