Precious Drops
There once was a prince, who was a stranger on his throne,
A man looked up to by all, but he was all alone.
For years he wished that he was just a normal child,
But the kingdom saw him as a king, strong, powerful, and mild.
Each night before sleep he would climb into his bed,
He would wish upon the stars, and a precious tear he would shed.
If you saw him you would see a maze in his eyes,
but if you looked deeper, you would find the reason for the tears that he cries.
Each precious drop was a wish to be free, a dream to become who he wanted to be.
Each precious drop resembled the fear, that one day he'd lose all he held near.
Each precious drop was a dragon to kill, a mountain to climb, a test of pure will.
Each precious drop was a friend from his past, ones whose friendship never did last.
Each precious drop was a smile to be worn, even though his heart was torn.
Each precious drop was a throne of defeat, a terrifying monster no one could beat.
Each precious drop was for the princess of his heart, who they were forever destined to be kept apart.
The prince for this girl, gave every care. But all he could do was sit on a throne of despair.
Each tear felt like a dagger buried deep, and that's why, This prince, every night did weep
