We're all waiting
We're all waiting
quickly falls a leave, swiftly flows the river,
but we're still waiting
Waiting for tomorrow, to re-do today
waiting on a baby, slow on her way
we're all waiting
quick comes then, swiftly comes time
but we're still waiting
waiting on a shelf, still too high to reach
waiting on a degree, that says we can teach
we're all waiting
quick comes progress, swiftly comes future
but we're still waiting
waiting on ourselves, seems forever prolonging
waiting on nothing, we forget our own longing
We were all waiting
because swiftly comes life, quickly come death
but now we're living.
