Mother, There's A Monster...

I reside in the doorway,
Watching over you
As you sleep
To keep the nightmares
From touching your fair head.
The world is
A terrible place
That will corrupt
Your innocent nature.
It's my duty
To keep you
Safe from harm
While you're in my care.
I know one day
That you'll leave
And not return.
But you'll always
Be my
Little Girl.
