Always Pictured
I always pictured my dad walking me down
The aisle when I get married.
I always pictured my dad threatening to kill
My boyfriends if they hurt me.
I always pictured going to father daughter
Dances with my dad.
I always pictured him lecturing me about my
Grades, telling me I need to do better.
I always pictured him cheering me on at all
My graduations.
I always pictured my dad telling me I look
Beautiful and taking pictures of me
Before I go to prom.
I always pictured me being his fishing partner
And him helping me catch the biggest fish.
I always pictured him looking at me and being
Very happy to have such an amazing daughter.
I always pictured him being happy in the
Choices that I make and supporting me
In whatever it may be.
I guess they will always be pictures in my mind
And never come in reality.
