Here's to
Here’s to the people in the past.
To the ones who left, to the ones we know now.
To the ones left behind and forgotten,
to the people that were great enough to stick around.
Here’s to the have-beens, to the I’ve been theres.
And to the ones still trying.
Here’s to the ones who never gave up,
To the ones pushed away over and over, yet keep coming back like a stray cat just begging for food.
Here’s to happiness.
To the times spent with the ones you love,
Or those times remembered on a cold, rainy day,
That can bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.
Here’s to sadness.
To the ones who can’t find happiness,
Or to the ones who lost it.
To the ones that when you ask, “Hey how are you?”
They hide every emotion behind their answer when they say, “I’m fine.”
Here’s to the ones that have all they ever wanted,
To the ones who are struggling just to find a place to rest their heads.
Here’s to the ones in the big mansions,
To the ones with big hearts.
Here’s to the brokenhearted,
The ones that lost the ones they love.
Here’s to the ones holding them close to their hearts tonight.
Here’s to the long car rides, to the long phone calls.
Here’s to the staying up all night with that one special person in mind.
Here’s to the dreamers,
The ones that have some place they want to go,
But don’t know how to get there.
Here’s to the complainers,
To the naggers and the constant “do this”, “do that’s”.
Here’s to ones whose dreams came true,
To the ones whose faces we never forget,
And to the ones striving to have their names remembered.
