Dance on Glass
Watch her dance on glass
Leaping, turning, dance till the last
Beauty, lover, daredevil, liar
Bright pale skin, eyes blue fire
She is fearless and strong
Arms limber and long
Bare feet on fragile glass
Dance behind a fearless mask
She lives life free, unafraid
But different under her facade
Lonely girl, the deeper she slips
The more the smile on her lips
Stronger grows her dance
Pounding feet on fragile glass
Beckoning you into her song
Smiling, fearless, she is strong
This girl is on fire
Glowing, lighting her own pyre
Simply smiles when told shes wrong
Louder grows her glowing song
Higher and higher she leaps
Must glow brighter, never sleeps
But harder she lands
The harder for her to stand
And then it happens, the slip
Hands reach, nothing to grip
Through shattered glass, falling hard
Ground by slivered fragments starred
Broken glass, broken girl
Fell from her peak, on a whirl
The dance of life left her scarred
But is she forever marred?
You see her glow again, a fighter
Light softer, yet somehow brighter
She is strong, begins anew
We all can fight, through and through
