Appeasement
I will be what you want -
Be that the distant light
Of a fading candle
Or the sharp bang of an
Unforeseen future.
The past is the past -
Footsteps have been trodden,
Words said, actions acted,
Yet I cannot leave it behind.
Please, O moon, come down,
Rescue me from this empty garden,
How the rains poured down
And any buds were quashed!
Then silence, for months,
Each barren day passed so freely.
No concern. No impediments.
Just warmth of unrequited love.
