Audrey
The Tiffany's ring slid down my finger,
size zero pants fed all judgement.
Rumors surfaced,
circulated through minds.
The truth concealed
in fragile bones.
The marching boots with rifles ready.
The stormed house, stained nightgowns.
Father's views contradicted many,
endorsed by red and black signs.
My starving bones stood by
even when fears vanished.
