"Winter Approaches"
The gentle, soft breezes leave the town,
They solemnly blow away,
For the frigid, brutal wind,
Storms its way near,
So everyone can hear.
The sun’s rays break through dawn,
Its imposing light shines upon everything in its path,
Yet it cannot warm the cooler air,
For its effort and strength will shred to pieces.
The trees’ branches are lonesome and bare,
For their leaves have left them,
Exposed and unprotected,
There is no doubt,
Winter is approaching.
