"Sometimes what sets you apart can feel like a burden. But it's not. A lot of the time, it's what makes you great." -Emma Stone

I long to be the me I cannot be;
the bold girl in my head
who wears gold instead of yellow.
She would demand a pedestal of the
purest titanium to stand on
inside your chest,
and a coat of real furs because it's cold there.
She would walk up to you,
take you by the face
and say, "I should have
kissed you at midnight on New Year's."
She could hold your gaze
without even having to run her fingers
along the seam of her pants nervously.
I bet she'd even let you touch her
face
with the tips of your fingers
instead of the backs.

You have to understand I don't like when people touch my face because I don't trust people.

I know this feeling of wanting to be the person I want to be but can't. It's fustrating. You have this person you want to be in your head constanly reminding you you aren't that person...yet. But you gotta accept you are. I love this poem.
