'It does not do well to live in dreams and forget to live'. ~ Dumbledore, Harry Potter

A silent beat
Drumming of a drum
Carries the rhythm on its shoulders
And as tiny molecules
Flood cavernous rooms
The heart shudders
And every particle is bound
In its journey
Through a space like no other
And surrounded by bones and flesh
What keeps the army sane?
Who decides not to kill,
But to support a life,
Which may or may not be worth the fight
Until the time comes to say goodbye
And all your comrades continue
A pointless quest
Keeping humanity alive
When the whole world knows they deserve to die.

It's about a blood cell. Yeah, I know, it's weird. But I find blood strangely symbolic. It's not life the cell got a choice, now its trapped for decades in a pointless quest. Funny, do you ever get that feeling sometimes?
