Steel Statue
Deserted scraps of useless eroded metal.
Sculpted beautifully into a purposeful whole.
Featured lights penetrate your rustic weary bones.
Every opening, cracks, scrapes revealed.
Elusive twists and complicated patterns.
Flawless, some would call it.
On permanent display for all the curious spectators.
But are you truly loved?
Is this the true face of beauty?
Every piece of you tediously molded to stunning perfection.
Thoroughly organized and diligently crafted.
I feel you must carry a heavy burden.
One that isn't your to bear.
Much heavier than that of welded steel limbs.
Condemned forever in that stance of self-righteousness.
Are you happy?
Were you ever given a choice?
Remarkable isn't it, the strange dynamics of the world.
But then...
You never truly saw the world did you?
Never learned what darkness lurks
The shadows, all sinister and ugly,
But the world sees you.
