mixed messages
Mixed up messages,
Backwards twisted word choice,
Filled with verbal irony
and I thought all was fine.
Perhaps I'm just too innocent.
Naive and unsuspecting
too dumb to hear the true intent
behind the pretty farce.
Perhaps I should've known
(cause nothing goes this smoothly)
I guess I should have realized
that the storm is on its way.
And yet I keep on trusting.
I've always wanted to belive
but faith is just intended
for those who earn that trust.
And here I'm still dependant
on a torn and crumpled notebook page
pouring out my heart and soul
for all who care to read.
So yes,I'm sorry Mom and dad
But once again I'm hiding this
with all the painful letters that I'll never let you see
Its funny how truth hides away
then slams out in one vicious punch.
and don't you find it so ironic?
I thought all was fine
