Let It Be
What went wrong
To cause the sirens to cease their song
We lost reality
Placing hope in a majesty
That promised rest for the wicked
But towards the decent expressing bigot
Letting the power go to his head
And never resting upon his bed
Delirious demands
To chop off the hands
Of those that stole
And use them as coal
Fueling his power
Lessening thew people to merely cower
And worship the ground where he walks
Giving him the key to all the locks
While I sit in the satellite
Because of the blast I held on tight
I never meant to miss the end of the world
But I was distracted by some stars that quarrelled
An alarming sound
As I touchdown on our planet that's no longer round
I found the skeleton key
Around the neck of a child singing "Let It Be"
