"Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who dream only at night."-Edgar Allan Poe

Welcome to the earth,
Once the home of life-
Until it ended.

Clouds fill the sky
A dreary and barren land
Lasting radiation
Scarring the planet forever-
From the bomb of destruction
No life remains here,
Due to mankind's,
Noble idiocy.
As the acid rain
Drills the ground,
Burrowing holes,
Deep into the lifeless dirt.

A flash in the sky-
Everything going black
The world went to hell.

Dusty and barren-
Desolate and gloomy-
Lifeless and harsh-
Nothing is left here,
No memory of what was,
Nothing survived;
The hateful beings
We are.
So many innocent lives
Torn away
Into the grip of Death.

Never to recover
How men ruined it all
Hope forever lost.

No improvement to blossom
Nothing will bloom
From this atrocity;
We called war;
Which,
Blew up,
All we had;
All we knew;
All we were.

Not a living thing,
No creatures on this planet-
All wasted and gone.

What have we done?
To our home-
Our only place for survival?
Our friends?
Our family?
All gone-
Along with ourselves.
Due to a greed for power;
Wasted on a power-
That never came.

Life as we knew it,
Not a single thing survived,
And we caused it all.

How nation waged war upon,
It's fellow nation.
People thrown against people.
Friends turned into foes.
Nothing good came,
From that spiteful bomb.

That final day-
When the final bomb fell and blew;
The life out of us.

Don't let this happen,
Don't let it end so soon
Now that you have finished
Reading this-
Have a good day,
Sirs and madames-
You idiots full of greed and hate.
Now be gone,
Leave me alone,
Goodbye
