Weapon Of Words
What weapon do you choose,
they ask,
to die by
Words. I wish a weapon of words.
Stronger than tempered steel,
more dependable than any blade
And they came to her,
with blades, and steel, and anger,
and she bared them to their souls
One by one they fell,
to an invisible blade that
scythed through their minds
Until only she stood,
the only victor,
alone and unscathed
The others fell,
and bowed, and prayed
repent for their misguided ways
Weapons of weathered steel
left to rust a broken orange
in an unforgiving sun
