Children to adults
Back when fireworks scared us,
And rainbows intrigued us.
The moon was our guide,
And our minds danced with the stars.
The ocean was our home,
While the sand was our bed.
Life was simple,
Yet new experiences sparked the curiosity
We bottled up inside.
Music moved us,
Our laughter hanging in the air.
Dreams floated through the sky,
On dandelions blown away.
We were kids,
We lived and breathed
Slowly growing up.
Still here we are here,
Hidden behind newly found wisdom;
A sense of adulthood
Seemingly necessary.
But,
Nothing lasts forever
Or leaves us waiting;
Changing like the seasons...
Reunited,
We will be
With the innocence and curiosity
Of our simple childhoods.
