"All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know.”
"Madame, all stories, if continued far enough, end in death, and he is no true-story teller who would keep that from you."
-Ernest Hemingway

He fell from the ditches
like an angel from haven’s gate
He sang a song of triumph,
as would the newest saint
He ran the length of the field
to see the enemy die
He never thought for a moment
to kiss humanity goodbye

Pretty good for a first time poet ;) I'm sorta biased when i read poems because I love poems that rhyme so that poem is probably as good as it can get in my books when it comes to poems that don't. Which is a compliment. Non-rhyming poems don't get that far for me.

When I read this I thought about the many who go to war everyday. I liked the poem and the rhythm it instilled my head. Few words with a bigger meaning I like these poems. Good job
