Serenity
I keep you company,
You know I'm here
You don't know I see you,
I hold you,
You don't feel my arms around your chest,
I'm tricking you,
But it's for your own good.
You drift off,
And I am replaced.
With screams of agony.
It is only in your mind,
As am I,
It has a powerful effect,
As do I,
It throws you back to me in a game of catch,
As I do.
Nevertheless,
You are with me again,
And though I must yet again trick you,
It is only out of love,
Unlike your nightmares.
That is our one difference
They feed off your fear,
I give you the relief of my serenity
