April's Fool

the weeks before create a warmth.
outside the plants begin to bloom.
a lot fall prey to spring fever.
and that is when those days are cut.
for even those who aren't the fools
will often know their big mistake.
to think that spring is really here
when snow could still be on its way.
but April's fools wear summer clothes
and expect that the warmth will last.
they will be in for quite the shock
when all that warmth will change to cold.
you must not think of summers light
for April is a trickster's month.
