Submerged
Water, water everywhere
In the ears and between the toes
Swirling past on currents cold,
Tangling hair and stretching hopes.
Blood beats a rhythm from the heart,
As one becomes re-energised
Humans are 70 percent water, so they say,
So why do people drown?
A glass of water please, m’dear
For dehydration is not healthy
Yet ask yourself, how many people
Would rather drink a coke?
Bubbles escape up to the surface,
As you lie there in the bath
Small wavelets gently lap,
Lulling you to sleep.
Water on the Earth,
Water in the air,
Bodies full of water,
We are all
Submerged.
